Fast Solutions for Skill Gaps – Bringing Global Talent to Your Business
The Subclass 482 (SID) Visa is a temporary work visa that allows Australian businesses to sponsor skilled overseas workers when local talent is not available. It is commonly used to fill urgent skill shortages quickly, but it is important for employers to consider both the costs and the limitations associated with this visa.
The 482 Visa has two key streams that cater to different levels of skills and salary requirements:
This stream is designed for highly skilled workers in professional occupations who will earn an annual salary of $135,000 or more (excluding trades, machinery operators, and labourers).
Eligibility Criteria:
The nominated occupation must be classified under the ANZSCO system as a professional occupation.
The minimum annual salary must be $135,000 or higher.
The applicant must have at least two years of relevant work experience in the nominated occupation.
The applicant must meet English language requirements (Competent English level – IELTS 5.0 or equivalent).
The employer must be an approved Standard Business Sponsor (SBS).
This stream is for businesses looking to fill roles on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) with a minimum salary of $73,150 per year (aligned with the current Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold - TSMIT).
Eligibility Criteria:
The nominated occupation must be on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
The minimum annual salary must meet or exceed $73,150.
The applicant must have at least two years of relevant work experience in the nominated occupation.

We begin by assessing your business's eligibility for Standard Business Sponsorship, focusing on financial stability, operational needs, and capacity to meet sponsorship obligations. This includes a detailed review of your company’s finances, workforce requirements, and compliance capabilities. We also evaluate potential international employees to ensure they meet all TSS visa criteria, including qualifications and language proficiency. We aim to align your business needs with top international talent, setting a solid foundation for successful sponsorship.
Our team provides end-to-end support by gathering required documents, preparing, and submitting the Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) application, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. We focus on reducing processing times by ensuring your application fully complies with all regulatory requirements. This comprehensive service, including ongoing guidance on business compliance and employee eligibility for the full five-year sponsorship term, is all covered in the initial cost of SBS approval—$2000 (excluding GST)
After submitting your SBS, we will guide you through the next step: nominating your chosen foreign employee for the 482 visa. Our team meticulously manages the entire visa application process, ensuring that the candidate's qualifications, work experience, and English language skills align with the specific requirements of the nominated position. We provide detailed support in preparing and submitting all necessary documentation, addressing any queries from immigration authorities, and monitoring the application's progress to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
We remain committed to supporting your business throughout the sponsorship term by ensuring compliance with all obligations, such as maintaining accurate records, reporting changes to the Department of Home Affairs, and upholding fair work practices. Our proactive team keeps you informed of any updates in immigration laws that could impact your sponsorship status or your employees’ visas. Best of all, there are no additional costs for assessing new candidates’ visa suitability or providing ongoing support for your entire team’s immigration needs, ensuring you have comprehensive assistance without unexpected expenses.
After submitting your application, we remain actively engaged by closely monitoring its progress, responding promptly to any inquiries from immigration authorities, and providing you with regular updates to keep you fully informed. We understand that processing times can be lengthy, so we prioritize proactive communication to ensure you’re never left in the dark. In addition, we offer flat-rate consultations and yearly retainer options for ongoing support, helping you manage workforce planning and compliance with ease, and addressing any questions as soon as they arise.
The Subclass 482 Visa involves several fees that employers need to be aware of. Importantly, the Migration Act requires that all sponsorship costs must be paid by the employer and cannot be recovered from the employee.

I’m Ieva, and my journey started in a fast-paced corporate immigration law firm in Australia. It was there that I mastered the ins and outs of immigration law, but something was missing: a human connection. I often saw clients treated as just another case number, which didn’t sit right with me. Immigration is personal. It’s about people, families, and their dreams. That’s why in 2018, I founded Immi Response—to provide more than just legal advice. I wanted to offer understanding, guidance, and hope.
Our mission is simple: to treat every client as an individual, not just a file. Our values—transparency, client focus, fast response, ethical guidance, and adaptability—ensure that we meet each client’s unique needs with respect and expertise.
